What makes a McLaren car special:
Bruce McLaren was a racing prodigy. From his early years he knew how to master cars rivals twice his age were racing. After successful wins in 24 Heures du Mans and Formula 1 and proven nearly unbeatable in the CanAm series, McLaren died at Goodwood aged 32. His legacy lives on in the name McLaren, one of the most successful racing teams of all time. The McLaren group has continued to be successful in racing ever since, and they built one amazing car: the McLaren F1 designed by Master Gordon Murray.
Who drives a McLaren car:
Formula 1 drivers drive McLarens, and the occasional supercar aficionado drive the McLaren F1. With only 106 built, scarcity of is one the F1’s key elements. Albeit being the best supercar ever designed in the history of auto making, few F1s see the kind of action they would like. McLaren is also responsible for the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the fastest road going Mercedes in history.
Rarity & Exclusivity:
Built from only the best materials the world had to offer, Gordon Murray spared no expense in the making of the McLaren F1. With gold being the best heat conductor, Murray chose solid gold for the F1’s firewall. With its unique centred driver/two passenger layout, the McLaren F1 certainly made a huge mark in the history books and it’s still the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world. The Mercedes SLR McLaren is unique in its own right by incorporating GT features with supercar performance.
