In 2000 the Lexus engineers started to create a supercar. The first concept of the Lexus LFA premiered in 2005 followed by a second version of the LFA in 2007 with a more furnished interior and exterior of the car. Only one year later, the third version of the LFA was introduced what then was a roadster model of the LFA. The final production version was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009. The high-revving 4.8-litre V10 is meant to be one of the best sounding V10s in the world and it was developed in cooperation with Yamaha. It has a power output of 560PS and it accelerates the LFA from 0 to 100km/h in 3,7 seconds. In 2011 Lexus also introduced a Nürburgring Edition that has 10hp more than the normal version, is 5 kg lighter and it is limited to only 50 items. It has updated aerodynamics and special racing wheels. The Nürburgring-Performance-Package also offered a selection of different paint colors than the standard version. Some of the LFA’s competitors are the Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 599 GTB and Porsche Carrera GT.
