The Lamborghini Miura is a mid-engine sports car from Lamborghini and was produced between 1966 and 1973. Moreover, the Miura pioneered the mid-engine two- seat layout, making it popular as the first supercar ever. At the time the car was released, it was the fastest production road car. The Miura was constructed in the spare time of the engineering team of Lamborghini. Moreover, they created it against the wishes of the company's owner Ferruccio Lamborghini who favoured powerful grand touring cars over race cars. Nevertheless, the car received acceptance and people were impressed by the design of the mid- engined supercar. The Miura also started the line of high-end, mid-engine supercars for Lamborghini. It was followed by the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and most recently the Aventador.
