TProbably the most sought after body on the Bentley S1 Continental chassis, the beautiful FastBack H.J. Mulliner's sport sedan was the modern evolution and successor to their original iconic design on the Continental R-Type. Designed specifically to be lightweight, as before the use of aluminum alloy and magnesium panels, it ensured maximum frame performance and was frequently requested by sportsmen and women. This car is true to the name Continental: a beautiful and powerful gentleman's car to travel great distances, at high speed, in comfortable comfort. Produced at 151 copies, only 28 cars left the factory in left-hand driving. With a top speed of almost 200 km / h, it was the fastest four-seater in the world. Newly sold in California in May 1957 to the first owner, Mr. Dan F. Dutton, of Los Angeles, in its original Black Pearl color with red leather interior. Mr Dutton kept it for 8 years before selling it at the famous garage "Peter Satori" in Pasadena in June 1965. The same year, the car will be acquired by the enthusiastic John Williams, a great composer of film music, who will keep for several decades. Mr. Fassbender acquired it in 1999 and will use Lukas Huni's help for the complete restoration at "P & A Wood" in 2000 and 2005. At the time of the restoration, the car will be painted in an exquisite dark blue with leather blue for the interior, a combination that it still keeps today.
