There’s an unexpected sense of peace to this Notting Hill mews. On a quiet, cobbled lane that springboards to the bustle of Portobello, a blonde-brick façade reads as surprisingly regal – white sash windows, a pedimented doorway, a sage-green door. Behind it, three floors unfold with an easy flow.

The ground floor is given over to a kitchen and reception room that operate as one. Handleless cabinetry in soft white runs along two walls, set against a sage glass splashback and grey stone worktops. Doors draw back to a south-facing courtyard screened in slatted wood – a still, private spot for all seasons. Upstairs, the main social hub spans the full width of the house. For something more energetic, work out at Body Works West or go for a stroll in nearby Holland Park.
