Funchal House

This set of villas is located in the parish of São Martinho, municipality of Funchal, in a tourist area, where its surroundings are dominated by hotels, accommodation and some commercial units. The area is served by good pedestrian and road accessibility, as well as public transport. Architecture The ”Casas Brancas” development is located on a rectangular geometric plot of land, with about 3,322 m2. From the implantation, a better optimization and use of the morphology of the land was sought, with the aim of improving not only the use of this space but also creating new and correct street fronts with an adequate scale. For this to happen, it was decided to maintain the morphology of the land in the areas that flank the building bodies, implanted at predominant level levels, thus leaving the rest of the land as natural as possible. The intervention in stepped objects develops along the axis of the land in a north-south direction, thus allowing a better dilution of the construction. In this way, the development consists of six volumes inserted in three levels, forming a total of 11 houses.
