MORE SPACE TO ENJOY NORWAY’S MOUNTAINS

Long winters, world-class skiing and quiet mountain surroundings make Norway a compelling place to own a second home. At Svartskard in Kvitfjell, this 151 m² apartment offers the space to bring family and friends together, with a private sauna, an almost 80 m² terrace and ski-in/ski-out access.

The apartment is offered unfurnished. An interior design concept has been prepared and can be realised by LHM if it suits your preferences, or adapted to create a home around your own vision. Images of furniture and styling shown in the concept illustrate the proposed interior.

KVITFJELL — OLYMPIC HERITAGE, SKIING FOR EVERY LEVEL

North of Lillehammer in Norway’s Gudbrandsdalen valley, Kvitfjell hosted alpine events during the 1994 Winter Olympics and continues to welcome Alpine Ski World Cup races. Its three mountainsides offer everything from gentle beginner runs and family areas to long blue and red pistes and demanding black Olympic slopes.

Long, cold winters and natural snowfall, supported by extensive snowmaking, help sustain an extended season. Carefully groomed slopes and a quieter atmosphere give ski enthusiasts room to enjoy the mountain.

The resort offers 34 kilometres of alpine slopes, alongside cross-country skiing, mountain restaurants and family facilities. In warmer months, hiking, cycling and fishing open up the surrounding landscape.

A GENEROUS LAYOUT WITH SPACE FOR PRIVACY

The proposed layout places an approximately 64.5 m² kitchen, dining and living area at the centre of the apartment. There is room for a substantial dining table, a sociable kitchen and comfortable seating, with broad glazing connecting the interior to the terrace and mountain views.

Two bedrooms sit along one side of the apartment, away from the main gathering space. A separate wing provides a third bedroom, its own living room, bathroom facilities and a separate entrance, an especially useful arrangement for children, visiting friends or extended family.

You can spend time together without sharing every room or routine. Children have somewhere to play or watch a film, while guests can enjoy greater independence. A private sauna provides a place to warm up and unwind after skiing.

AN ALMOST 80 M² TERRACE BESIDE THE SLOPES

The 78.7 m² terrace extends across the front of the apartment, creating generous space for outdoor dining, seating and time in the mountain air.

Svartskard’s elevated position on Kvitfjell’s western mountainside offers favourable sun exposure and open views. With the piste beside the development, returning home during the ski day is easy: stop for lunch, a cup of tea or a break on the terrace before heading out again. Skiing begins from the dedicated ski storage facilities.

In summer, the terrace becomes an additional place to gather, with room for long meals outdoors and quiet afternoons overlooking the mountains.

YOUR INTERIOR, DEVELOPED WITH LHM

LHM develops premium mountain homes and apartments, bringing construction expertise together with bespoke interior design and furniture production.

For this apartment, the prepared concept offers a starting point. Buyers can choose to follow it or work with LHM to adapt the materials, colours, cabinetry and furnishings to their preferences. The final specification, scope and cost can be agreed with the sales team.

SVARTSKARD — PRACTICAL DETAILS FOR MOUNTAIN STAYS

Svartskard comprises 16 individually designed apartments beside Kvitfjell’s slopes. Underground parking, private storage and dedicated ski facilities support both short visits and longer stays.

A shared ski preparation room, lockable ski lockers and boot drying facilities keep equipment organised and ready for the next day. Owners can leave their mountain essentials here rather than transport them on every visit.

GETTING TO SVARTSKARD

Oslo Gardermoen Airport is the main international gateway. Allow approximately 2–2.5 hours by car to Kvitfjell, with additional time depending on the final mountain address, traffic and weather.

Selected trains connect the airport with Kvitfjell station in approximately two hours and 15 minutes. A taxi or arranged transfer completes the journey to Svartskard.
