Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice with a character that remains more grounded than either. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts that drop directly into the Mediterranean, retains the scale and texture of a working Provençal port. The Picasso Museum, housed in the Château Grimaldi where the artist worked in 1946, anchors the cultural identity of the place. Cap d’Antibes, the pine-covered peninsula to the south, is among the most prestigious residential addresses on the French Riviera.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs every morning except Monday and is the practical centre of daily life in the old town. Restaurants along the port and in the old town include Le Vauban and La Taverne du Safranier. Juan-les-Pins, immediately to the west, adds a broader range of dining and beach clubs within a short drive.

Antibes train station sits on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV services connecting to Paris in approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 20 kilometres to the northeast, accessible in around 25 minutes by car or via a direct train to Nice followed by the airport shuttle. Cannes is 12 kilometres to the southwest, and Monaco is approximately 45 kilometres to the east.
