There is evidence of this magnificent historic villa, the Villa di Striano, dating back to the 13th century, when it stood as a set of two fortified towers to guard the hills of the Mugello area.
At the end of the 19th century, the villa was purchased by the Florentine painter Michele Gordigiani who transformed it into what we see today: a magnificent and imposing double-tower structure, embellished with squares, terraces and loggias, one of which was frescoed in the vault by Galileo Chini, a well-known artist, painter and ceramist from Mugello.
