Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation rests on genuine substance: a protected bay framed by the Esterel massif to the west and the Lérins Islands offshore, a historic core on the hill of Le Suquet, and a boulevard de la Croisette that remains one of the most recognisable seafronts in the world.
