The native structures of the fortress have partly fallen and now we find only a part of the fortress, the door with two towers, a cistern and part of the walls. A legend tells that near the Fortress Gianciotto Malatesta was slain in 1304. He, some years before, killed his wife Francesca and his brother, Paolo, the lovers celebrated by Dante. The actual renovation project foresees the recovery and the valorisation of this fortress, which is very important for the local history and could become home to a congress centre, a fitness centre and a luxury home.
