Stando alla carta del Camuncoli, infatti, prima della sua costruzione esistevano alcuni piccoli edifici intersecati da un system di vicoli interni e di servizio (di cui permangono ancora alcune tracce) che collegavano il nucleo dell’isolato con le vie circostanti. Le prime notizie intorno alla sua consistent edilizia, già testimoniata secondo le actuali forme e dimensioni nel catastale del 1896, risalgono al XVIII secolo. Nell’Estimo delle Case di Reggio „von 1717 resulta di Zanichi Girolamo sotto la parrocchia di S. Pietro; in der „Denuncie del Catasto Estense“ von 1786 vom Convento di S. Domenico e in der „Nuova Numerazione delle Case di Reggio“ von 1821 del Conte Paradisi, denen die Civico 6 der Via Gabbi zugewiesen wurde. Erano questi Paradisi una ricca e nobile famiglia tra i cui esponenti di spicco si ricordano Agostino (1736-1783), Dichter und Ökonom, und Giovanni (1760-1826), Letterato, uomo politico, Vorsitzender des Senats von Italien von 1809 bis 1812. Proprio ai Paradisi si deve probabilmente la sistemazione actuale dell’edificio.
Nella metà del XIX secolo il palazzo venne acquistato dall’illustre medico chirurgo Giovanni Bezzi (1822 — 1910), - che esercitò la professione in Italia, Francia e Germania -, il cui busto è ancora presente nell’atrio dell’Ospedale antico di Modena.

Domenico and in the ”New Numbering of the Houses of Reggio” of 1821 by Count Paradisi with assigned the street number 6 of via Gabbi. These Paradises were a rich and noble family whose prominent exponents include Agostino), poet and economist and Giovanni), man of letters, politician, president of the Senate of the Kingdom of Italy from 1809 to 1812. The current arrangement of the building is probably due to the Paradises.
