Chalet Mauritius is an Engadine chalet in the authentic sense. Its walls are lined in cirmolo (Swiss pine) boiserie beneath hand-crafted coffered ceilings, and elm floors are set with details in green Spluga granite. Fully renovated in 2009, the house spans approximately 388 m² over three floors on a plot of 1’083 m², and its two units can be lived in together or apart.
The main residence of 6.5 rooms, approximately 260 m², occupies the first and second floors. The first floor gathers around the Stüva, the traditional panelled room of the Engadine house, here the dining room, with direct access to the terrace and an outside stair to the garden. A living room with fireplace, a separate kitchen, a library and a guest WC complete the floor. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a separate walk-in wardrobe and balcony access and a bathroom with whirlpool, beside a second bedroom, a guest double bedroom and a shower room.
On the ground floor, a 3.5-room apartment of approximately 128 m², laid with larch floors, has its own entrance, a living and dining room opening onto the terrace, an open kitchen and two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom with tub, plus a shower room, laundry area and cellar. Outside are a fenced private garden of approximately 454 m² and terraces on several levels; two double garages and six outdoor spaces provide parking.
La Punt-Chamues-ch lies at 1’700 metres in the Upper Engadine, on the Inn. Shops are 100 m away and public transport 500 m. The house stands in the Dorfzone planning area, which permits extension and elevation, second-home use is authorised, and the InnHub La Punt by Sir Norman Foster is planned close by.
