It belonged to a local baronet (nobles ruled Corfu under Venetian occupation and remained influential up to the early 20th century). The property has direct access to the time-hallowed church of the village. Years ago the upper floor of building 2 served as town hall of the area (where villagers voted for the first time). Lastly, since the 1990s, current owners have used the property to organize international cultural activities.

There are several supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and cafes in a nearby major village (at a distance of 3 km), which also features a pleasant, partly organized beach.
