Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation is built on more than its famous film festival. The Boulevard de la Croisette, running along the Golfe de Napoule with views toward the Estérel massif and the Îles de Lérins, defines one of the most recognisable seafronts in Europe. The city combines a working Provençal character, most visible in the Marché Forville and the old quarter of Le Suquet, with the concentrated luxury of its palace hotels, private beaches, and casino.

Daily life in Cannes centres on the Croisette and its immediate surroundings. Mauro Colagreco’s Mirazur is a short drive along the coast. Cannes Mandelieu Airport handles private aviation and is approximately ten minutes by car. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the main regional hub with direct routes to over 100 destinations including North America and the Middle East, is roughly 30 kilometres east, around 30 to 40 minutes by road. Cannes train station connects directly to Nice in approximately 30 minutes and to Marseille Saint-Charles in under two hours, with TGV services linking to Paris in around five and a half hours.
