Pelayo, or simply Pelayo, is a population center in the municipality of Algeciras, located 7 kilometers from the city center and 14 km from Tarifa.

The population is divided by the national highway N-340, with part of it within the Los Alcornocales Natural Park. The original Pelayo settlement was rural, based on orchards and mills. Today, however, the area is almost exclusively residential and is considered a neighborhood of the city.
