For the commercial farmer seeking scale and the investor looking for diversified potential, this 660-hectare eastern Free State holding brings together an established cattle-farming platform, extensive former cultivated land, approximately 2 kilometres of direct dam frontage, irrigation rights and a distinctive diamond opportunity.
This is a substantial agricultural property in its own right. Its waterfront position and reported history of diamond recovery introduce additional dimensions for a buyer prepared to investigate and develop them responsibly.
THE AGRICULTURAL FOUNDATION
The property is currently used for grazing. Based on information supplied by the seller, approximately 70% comprises arable former cultivated land—around 462 hectares. This creates flexibility for continued cattle production, mixed farming or the reintroduction of crop production, subject to the buyer’s own soil, water and agronomic assessments.
The farm presently carries a Brangus operation comprising approximately:
* 180 cows * 100 calves * 10 breeding bulls
The livestock is excluded from the advertised purchase price. These figures are seller-supplied and may change.
WATERFRONT AND IRRIGATION
Approximately 2 kilometres of direct dam frontage adds a significant waterfront dimension to the agricultural holding. The property also benefits from approximately 20 hectares of irrigation rights.
Dam frontage and irrigation or water-use entitlements are separate considerations. All applicable rights, conditions and supporting documentation must be independently verified during due diligence.
DIAMOND POTENTIAL
According to the seller, diamonds have previously been recovered from the property and geological reports are available.
The existing mining site lies beside one of the farm dams near the homestead and can be seen in the aerial photographs. Further bulk sampling remains necessary to investigate the extent and commercial potential of the diamond-bearing material. No representation or guarantee is made regarding future recovery, grade, quantity or value.
The seller advises that the relevant five-year mineral authorisation is currently held in his name and that four years of its stated term will have elapsed by the end of 2026. He is willing to consider a structured operational arrangement with the purchaser.
Any contractor appointment, continuation of operations, renewal or alternative arrangement will remain subject to the precise terms and status of the authorisation, applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, formal agreements and purchaser due diligence. Available authorisation and geological documentation will be provided to qualified purchasers.
IMPROVEMENTS
Existing improvements include two farmhouses, storage facilities and additional supporting farm buildings. Established trees surround the homestead, while the dams, open grazing, former cultivated lands and mountain backdrop define the wider setting.
THE INVESTMENT CASE
For the farmer, the agricultural scale is not a secondary feature—it is the foundation of the property. For the investor, the existing agricultural use allows the land to remain purposeful while the mineral opportunity is independently evaluated.
Few holdings combine this degree of agricultural scale, waterfront, irrigation rights, current cattle use and a documented basis from which to investigate diamond potential.
An adjoining 377-hectare waterfront resort and development property is available separately, creating the possibility of a larger combined acquisition. It is not included in this offering.
The advertised price excludes VAT.
Exact location and access information will be supplied once a prospective purchaser’s enquiry has been registered. Supporting documentation and private viewings are available by appointment to qualified purchasers.
