Es Mercadal sits at the geographic heart of Menorca, a small inland town at the foot of Monte Toro, the island’s highest point at 358 metres. The surrounding municipality extends north to the coast at Son Parc and Fornells, taking in some of the island’s least developed and most protected landscapes. The area reflects the quieter, more agricultural character of central Menorca, where dry-stone walls, working farms, and pine-covered ravines define the terrain rather than resort infrastructure.

The town of Es Mercadal itself offers a handful of well-regarded local restaurants, including Ca n’Aguedet, known for traditional Menorcan cooking.
