Saint-Raphaël sits at the western edge of the Côte d’Azur, where the red porphyry massif of the Estérel meets the Mediterranean. The area around Le Trayas, along the Corniche d’Or, is among the most geologically dramatic stretches of the French Riviera: a protected coastal road carved through classified Natura 2000 territory, with direct access to isolated coves that remain largely unchanged from the Belle Époque era when the route first drew aristocratic visitors.

Saint-Raphaël’s town centre offers a covered market on Place Victor Hugo, a working fishing port, and a range of restaurants along the seafront. The neighbouring town of Fréjus, three kilometres inland, adds Roman heritage sites and broader retail. Le Trayas itself is a quiet hamlet; daily conveniences require a short drive toward Agay or Théoule-sur-Mer.

Saint-Raphaël has a mainline TGV station with direct services to Paris Gare de Lyon in approximately three hours and to Marseille in under one hour. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 50 kilometres east, reachable in around 45 minutes by car outside peak season.
