Charming and authentic Tuscan residence situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico within the exclusive private estate of one of Italy’s most prestigious wine makers.

Casa Violino is a semi-detached Tuscan villa in the grounds of a prominent castle which sits in the centre of this prestigious wine estate. Within the grounds of the castle there are various other apartments and farmhouses, the majority of which are owned by overseas second home owners.

The Property
The ground-floor of the house enjoys an abundance of natural light thanks to a number of large windows and french doors. The doors give direct access onto a garden/terrace area which surrounds most of the property.

Entry from the garden/terrace is into a large room divided into three open-plan sections. The entire property has been restored to the current owners bespoke design, and enormous effort was made to utilize much of the original material. We find restored terracotta tiles and characteristic chestnut ceiling beams throughout the house.

The lay-out of the ground floor has been designed with an eye towards summer al-fresco living, as the dining room is accessed from the terrace through two double glass doors.

The first floor is composed of four bedrooms and four bathrooms and an office which could become a fifth bedroom. The first floor is accessed via two separate stairways. On one side is a gradual staircase giving access to a bedroom and bathroom only 2 steps up from the lounge area. This lay-out decision was made to increase privacy and to create space for friends and family.

The Private Estate
The wine estate is one of the largest in the Chianti area, and its Castle that sits in the centre is so picturesque that there are always a number of cars stopped by the side of the road taking photos from a distance. The castle is not only a beautiful part of this Chianti landscape, but also historically important as it belonged to the noble Florentine Strozzi family for four centuries. Sold in 1967, it is now owned by a co-operative who decided to restore the hamlet and castle buildings, creating very individual accommodation.

Gardens & Grounds
The house enjoys a private raised garden which is accessed from various points off the lounge and dining room.

The large swimming pool is set in an elevated position about 150 meter away from the villa with breathtaking views over the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Located beside an olive grove to one side of the hamlet, the pool’s surrounding paved area is furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas.
