19th Century Palazzo With Frescoes In The Heart Of The Historic Center

Palazzo Ravenna, in the historic center of Parabita, overlooks Piazza Umberto entirely, also known as “Castle Square,” and offers an unmissable view of the Mother Church, recently fully restored. Entering through the large wooden gate, we cross the threshold into a spacious inner courtyard paved with original stone slabs, and at the back the staircase leading to the piano nobile. On the first floor there is a succession of rooms, each more majestic than the last, totaling over 800 sq m. The first room we enter is a grand hall that divides the floor in two: on the left, the oldest part with frescoed ceilings, original furnishings, and perfect symmetry in the layout of the rooms; on the right, the section built in a later period, with everyday spaces such as the kitchen, dining room, study, and other bedrooms. Also on the first floor there is a large terrace of almost 200 sq m overlooking the castle, two other small terraces, service rooms, and access to the attic. From the ground-floor courtyard, we reach cellars once used to store the oil produced by the family itself, and a private garden connected to the first floor by an external staircase. The property has been very well preserved by the current owners, who still live there; the structure is sound and shows no evident structural issues. The palace requires an overall restoration of the systems, windows and doors, bathrooms, and kitchen to restore its former splendor.
