Mijas Villa

Mijas occupies a privileged position on the western Costa del Sol, divided between the whitewashed hilltop village of Mijas Pueblo, sitting at roughly 430 metres above sea level, and the coastal strip of Mijas Costa below. The municipality is one of the most recognisable in Andalusia, defined by its Moorish street layout, traditional cortijo architecture, and uninterrupted views across the Mediterranean toward the North African coastline. It carries the character of an authentic Andalusian pueblo while remaining firmly embedded in one of Europe’s most active luxury property markets.

Mijas Pueblo offers the Restaurante El Mirlo Blanco and several tapas bars along Calle San Sebastián for daily dining. Fuengirola, five kilometres downhill, provides a covered market, rail connections, and a broader retail offer. La Cala de Mijas, on the coast, has a beach club scene and the La Cala Resort golf complex nearby.

Fuengirola station on the Cercanías C1 line connects to Málaga city centre in approximately 45 minutes and to Málaga Airport in around 30 minutes by train. By car, the AP-7 motorway places Málaga Airport within 25 to 30 minutes and Marbella within 20 minutes. Málaga Airport operates direct routes to over 60 international destinations, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam, making it the primary international gateway for the western Costa del Sol.
