Due to its exclusive location in the holiday resort Luz near Lagos, there is the opportunity for seasonal rental.
Location and Infrastructure
The town of Luz, located in the Faro district, developed from a small fishing village at the beginning of the 20th century into an increasingly popular seaside resort with a wonderful sandy beach - Praia da Luz - and its Rocha Negra - the black rock. Luz is also known for its Roman ruins and the fortification - Fortaleza da Praia da Luz.
The nearby larger neighboring town of Lagos was named one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal in 2021. Lagos is famous for its historic old town with city walls, cliffs, and breathtaking Atlantic beaches. The sandy cove Praia do Camilo can only be reached via steep wooden stairs.
From the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade, there is a magnificent panoramic view of the peninsula and its lighthouse. The magnificent Igreja de Santo António church, built in the 18th century, is located opposite the Castelo dos Governadores, a fortress with a baroque facade and watchtowers.
Lagos’ well-preserved old town offers, besides historical sights, cultural facilities, restaurants, cafés, and all kinds of shopping opportunities. Tourists shape the scene year-round, and among the local shops, British pubs, nightclubs, and a German bakery have also settled.
From the marina, newly built in 1995, a side road leads to the 4 km long Meia Praia, the main sandy beach of Lagos. Other smaller beaches between rocky cliffs, such as Praia Dona Ana and Praia dos Estudantes, are located on the southern edge of the town, which ends at Ponta da Piedade, a rocky point with bizarre bays offering spectacular views over Lagos Bay.
Faro Airport is about 90 km away and can be reached within an hour by car.
