BARNES Cassis exclusively offers, in the heart of the sought-after Presqu’île area, a characterful 1940s house with unique charm, featuring approximately 176 m² of living space on a flat, wooded plot of 1,250 m². From the moment you arrive, the property’s atypical architecture captivates. It is set in a peaceful environment, very close to the sea. The house offers many layout possibilities. The garden level includes a living room, three bedrooms, an office, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The main level features a dining room with a remarkable cathedral ceiling and a fireplace, extended by a living room. These living spaces open onto a terrace with views of the sea and the spectacular Cap Canaille cliffs. An independent kitchen, two bedrooms, and an adjoining bathroom complete this level. Outside, the flat land is a real asset in this area, offering a rare and preserved living environment. An outbuilding of about 18 m² and numerous parking spaces complete the property. This property, ready to be enhanced, represents a rare opportunity in the Presqu’île, both for the quality of its location and its potential. The plot’s layout allows for the possibility of an extension or a significant project to increase the existing living space. An authentic property with great potential, ideal for lovers of unique living spaces and custom projects. To discover. PHOTO FILE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. Cassis occupies a singular position on the French Mediterranean coast, set between the limestone massif of the Calanques and the dramatic cliffs of Cap Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in France. The town has retained the scale and character of a genuine Provençal fishing port, with a working harbour, ochre-and-cream facades, and a market square that functions as the social centre of daily life. Its relative inaccessibility by road has historically protected it from the overdevelopment that has affected much of the Côte d’Azur.
Daily life in Cassis centres on the port and the cours Barthélemy. The Wednesday and Friday markets supply local produce, and restaurants including La Villa Madie (two Michelin stars) and Nino on the port define the dining scene. The Calanques National Park, established in 2012, begins at the western edge of town, with boat access to the calanques from the port.
Cassis sits 30 kilometres east of Marseille, accessible by the D559 coastal road or the faster A50 motorway in approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car. The Cassis train station connects to Marseille Saint-Charles in around 25 minutes, with TGV services from Marseille reaching Paris in three hours. Marseille Provence Airport is approximately 40 kilometres away, a 35 to 45 minute drive, with direct routes to major European and international destinations.
