Vallauris sits between Cannes and Antibes on the Côte d’Azur, a town with a distinct identity shaped by centuries of ceramics tradition and its deep association with Pablo Picasso, who worked here in the late 1940s and left the Château de Vallauris a significant body of work. The surrounding hills offer elevated positions with clear sightlines across the Golfe de la Napoule toward the Lérins Islands, and the town retains a working, unhurried character that contrasts with the intensity of Cannes just a few kilometres to the southwest.
