Properties of this calibre seldom come to the open market. With the character and elegance of a Georgian country home, stylish interiors and extensive equestrian facilities, Bridge Farm offers an exceptional rural lifestyle while remaining within easy reach of Boston and excellent road and rail connections.
Sellers’ insights
”We’ve lived at Bridge Farm for 14 years and it’s been a fantastic place to raise our family. The children have loved having so much space to enjoy, both in the house and outside, and they’ve grown up exploring the surrounding countryside. It’s such a peaceful setting you’re not overlooked, there’s a real sense of privacy, and it’s simply a lovely place to call home.
The approach to the house always makes an impression. As you come up the driveway, the Georgian frontage and beautiful lawns gradually come into view, and it still gives us that same feeling every time we arrive home. Inside, we’ve invested a great deal in updating the interiors, but always taking care to respect its character. Outside, we’ve added the stables, summer house and decking with the hot tub. The topiary and seating areas have evolved over the years, creating somewhere we love to spend time with family and friends or simply sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The house has grown with our family over the years. The layout is incredibly versatile, with plenty of living spaces so everyone can spread out, while the one-bedroom annexe has been used for everything from multi-generational living to a home office. When the children were older, we added the detached summer house, giving them their own space with a pool table, television and games area. They absolutely loved it, but it’s equally suited as an entertaining space, home office or studio.
The house is wonderful for entertaining. Christmas celebrations have been particularly special, and it’s a home that’s equally suited to larger occasions as it is to quieter evenings with family.
The paddocks and fields are perfect for equestrian pursuits. My daughter keeps her horses here, so everything has been set up with that in mind. The stables and outbuildings all have power and lighting, the paddocks are securely fenced, and there’s still plenty of scope for a new owner to adapt the land further, whether by creating an arena or enhancing the existing facilities, subject to the necessary consents.
You can ride straight out from the grounds into the surrounding countryside. There are some lovely hacking routes straight from our property, so you can enjoy hours of riding without needing to transport the horses anywhere.
Swineshead has a good range of amenities, including local shops, a GP surgery and a rail station. It’s also an excellent area for families, with a well-regarded primary school in the village, a choice of schools in neighbouring villages, and highly regarded grammar and non-selective secondary schools in both Boston and Sleaford.
Although the house feels wonderfully rural, it’s surprisingly well connected. The A17 is just moments away, providing easy access towards Sleaford, King’s Lynn and beyond, while Swineshead station offers direct services to Nottingham and Grantham, where you can connect to London.
Bridge Farm has been an incredible family home and we’ll be very sad to leave. We hope the next owners will enjoy everything it has to offer just as much as we have.”
