Le Tholonet is a small commune on the eastern edge of Aix-en-Provence, defined by its proximity to the Montagne Sainte-Victoire and its deep association with Paul Cézanne, who painted this landscape repeatedly throughout his career. The Route du Tholonet winds through pine forest and garrigue, past stone bastides and the Château du Tholonet, creating a setting that feels removed from the city while remaining within its orbit. This is one of the most sought-after addresses in the Aix area.

The centre of Aix-en-Provence is approximately six kilometres away, giving access to the Cours Mirabeau, the daily market on Place Richelme, and restaurants including Pierre Reboul and Le Formal. The Carrières de Lumières at Les Baux is under an hour by car. Le Tholonet itself has a local café and the Château du Tholonet grounds.

Aix-en-Provence TGV station, located at the Arbois plateau roughly fifteen kilometres from Le Tholonet, connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in approximately three hours. Marseille-Provence Airport is around thirty kilometres away, approximately thirty-five minutes by car, with direct routes to major European hubs. The A8 motorway provides straightforward access to Marseille, Nice, and the broader Côte d’Azur corridor.
