This refined and very thoughtfully styled villa in Ahangama has been restored and extended from a village house built in Dutch colonial style - proud classical pillars and all.

It sits just a few hundred metres from the beaches of Ahangama and, though neatly and privately tucked away, is in prime position for paying guests too - a (very) short walk to the likes of The Kip, one of the town’s favourite spots.

The main house has two large bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom that open to outdoor shower areas. The larger of the two bedrooms opens directly onto the main garden, while the second bedroom can be accessed privately from the back of the house.

A well-sized and well-fitted kitchen has plenty of built-in storage and runs to a smaller storage/‘staff area’ and third washroom.

Through a characterful archway - a feature of the original house - the kitchen flows into a central sitting room which in turn runs to the large dining room, a conversion from the old verandah. Centre-pivot floor-to-ceiling windows run the length of the dining room keeping the space beautifully light and bright.

In the garden there’s a pool along which runs an ambalama which serves just as happily as yoga shala or outdoor dining space.
