Le Cannet sits directly above Cannes on the hillside of the Esterel foothills, a residential commune that has maintained a distinct identity from its more famous neighbour. The old village, with its narrow lanes, Provençal facades, and the Musée Bonnard dedicated to the Post-Impressionist painter who spent his final years here, gives the town genuine cultural substance.
