YOUR SECOND HOME IN NORWAY

Norway’s wild mountains, fresh air and quiet surroundings, majestic nature and four seasons offer a place to step away from busy routines and spend more time together. In Kvitfjell, this LHM mountain home gives that retreat a practical advantage: skiing from the doorstep. Expected to be ready for handover in approximately one month, it offers the opportunity to settle in for the coming ski season. The interior photographs in the gallery show a similar LHM mountain home and are provided as inspiration; they do not show the interiors of this property.

KVITFJELL — OLYMPIC SLOPES, SKIING FOR EVERY LEVEL

North of Lillehammer in Norway’s Gudbrandsdalen valley, Kvitfjell earned its international reputation hosting downhill and super-G events during the 1994 Winter Olympics. It remains a regular venue for FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races.

That racing heritage is only part of the experience. Across three mountainsides, beginners can learn on gentle green runs, intermediate skiers can explore blue and red slopes, and experienced skiers can test themselves on the black Olympic courses. For buyers seeking serious skiing alongside quieter mountain surroundings, Kvitfjell deserves a closer look.

A LOG HOME WITH CONTEMPORARY INTERIORS

Traditional Norwegian log construction and a turf roof are paired with contemporary interiors, bespoke cabinetry and oak floors. Approximately 173 m² across two floors provides three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an additional WC and separate living areas.

The main kitchen, dining and living space opens towards mountain views, with a fireplace and terrace access. An upstairs lounge offers room for television, reading and additional sleeping accommodation. A sauna completes the home.

Ground-source heating, remote heating control, ski storage, a garage and an electric car charger support extended stays.

LAFTESTOLEN — THE FINAL AVAILABLE HOME

This is the last available home in Laftestolen, LHM’s development of 29 mountain homes. Set on an approximately 847 m² plot, it overlooks Kvitfjell’s western mountainside.

The development offers ski-in/ski-out access to alpine slopes and cross-country trails. Leave home on skis and return for lunch or an evening by the fireplace. In warmer months, nearby hiking routes and fishing lakes offer reasons to return beyond winter.

GETTING TO KVITFJELL

Oslo Gardermoen Airport is the main international gateway. Allow approximately 2–2.5 hours by car to Kvitfjell, depending on your destination within the resort, traffic and weather. Much of the journey follows the E6 north through the Gudbrandsdalen valley.

Selected rail services connect the airport with Kvitfjell station, with journeys from approximately two hours and 15 minutes. Arrange a taxi or transfer for the final journey to Laftestolen.

BUYING IN NORWAY

Foreign citizens can purchase property in Norway without being residents. The appointed estate agent guides buyers through the sales documents, offer, contract, settlement and ownership registration, including a Norwegian D-number where required.

Before making an offer, buyers receive information about purchase costs, ownership conditions and ongoing expenses.

With completion expected in approximately one month, the agent can confirm the construction schedule and agree a handover date as part of the purchase.

WHY CHOOSE NORWAY FOR A SECOND HOME?

A home in Norway’s mountains offers a different rhythm: winter days outdoors, summer walks and evenings spent together. In Kvitfjell, internationally recognised skiing sits alongside woodland, open mountain terrain and places to enjoy greater privacy.

For families, owning a home here means returning to somewhere familiar. Children can progress from their first ski lessons to more demanding slopes, while summer visits bring new routes and activities to explore. Over time, those repeated visits become family traditions.

Contact the sales team to arrange a viewing, review the full specification and discuss handover for the coming winter.
