KVITFJELL — OLYMPIC HERITAGE, SKIING FOR EVERY LEVEL

North of Lillehammer in Norway’s Gudbrandsdalen valley, Kvitfjell hosted alpine events during the 1994 Winter Olympics and continues to welcome Alpine Ski World Cup races. Its three mountainsides offer everything from gentle beginner runs and family areas to long blue and red pistes and demanding black Olympic slopes.

Long, cold winters and natural snowfall, supported by extensive snowmaking, help sustain an extended season. Carefully groomed slopes and a quieter atmosphere give ski enthusiasts room to enjoy the mountain.

The resort offers 34 kilometres of alpine slopes, alongside cross-country skiing, mountain restaurants and family facilities. In warmer months, hiking, cycling and fishing open up the surrounding landscape.

A GENEROUS LAYOUT WITH SPACE FOR PRIVACY

The proposed layout places an approximately 64.5 m² kitchen, dining and living area at the centre of the apartment. There is room for a substantial dining table, a sociable kitchen and comfortable seating, with broad glazing connecting the interior to the terrace and mountain views.

Two bedrooms sit along one side of the apartment, away from the main gathering space. A separate wing provides a third bedroom, its own living room, bathroom facilities and a separate entrance, an especially useful arrangement for children, visiting friends or extended family.

Svartskard’s elevated position on Kvitfjell’s western mountainside offers favourable sun exposure and open views. With the piste beside the development, returning home during the ski day is easy: stop for lunch, a cup of tea or a break on the terrace before heading out again. Skiing begins from the dedicated ski storage facilities.

In summer, the terrace becomes an additional place to gather, with room for long meals outdoors and quiet afternoons overlooking the mountains.

GETTING TO SVARTSKARD

Oslo Gardermoen Airport is the main international gateway. Allow approximately 2–2.5 hours by car to Kvitfjell, with additional time depending on the final mountain address, traffic and weather.

Selected trains connect the airport with Kvitfjell station in approximately two hours and 15 minutes. A taxi or arranged transfer completes the journey to Svartskard.
