Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice on a peninsula that has drawn residents of serious means for well over a century. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts, gives the city a density of history and architectural character that newer resort towns along the coast cannot replicate. The eastern side of Antibes, closer to the Cap d’Antibes shoreline, is particularly sought after for its combination of established residential streets, mature gardens, and direct access to the sea.

Daily life in Antibes centres on the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, open every morning except Monday. The old port offers waterfront dining at addresses such as Le Vauban. Juan-les-Pins, immediately adjacent, adds a further stretch of sandy beaches and restaurants. The Picasso Museum, housed in the Château Grimaldi, is a five-minute walk from the market.

Antibes is served by its own SNCF station with frequent TGV and regional connections. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 20 kilometres away, reachable in around 25 minutes by car or via direct train from Antibes station. Cannes is 12 kilometres to the southwest, roughly 15 minutes by car. Monaco is accessible in under an hour by rail or road, making Antibes a practical base for the wider Riviera.
