Ancien Moulin À Eau Du XVII Ie Siècle Avec Dépendances Sur Un Terrain De 1,5 Hectare, À 20 Kilomètres De

An 18th-century former watermill with outbuildings in 1.5-hectare grounds, 20 kilometres from Bordeaux, in the Gironde area. This former watermill was built around 1770 and has been owned by the same family for approximately fifty years. The property covers around 1.5 hectares of wooded land, through which flows the stream that used to power the mill, which still possesses the water rights over it. It is made up of two adjoining dwellings with a total surface of approximately 200 m², as well as an around 185-m² barn and a swimming pool. The various buildings are made of light-coloured stone, topped by a roof of barrel tiles and stand near to each other, either side of a gravelled drive. Its facades are punctuated by windows with stone surrounds as well as wooden doors and shutters, while wisteria climbs along part of the house. The twofold purpose of the place, both domestic and functional, is borne out in its architecture. Inside, the period materials have mostly been preserved, such as stone walls, floors paved with terracotta tiles or stone slabs, exposed beams, original frames and fireplaces. The waterwheel is today concealed but can still be seen in a small room. The buildings are surrounded by lawns, flowerbeds and trees, while a small bridge crosses over the stream providing access to the different parts of the grounds.
