Saint-Raphaël occupies a privileged position on the Esterel coast, where the red porphyry cliffs of the Massif de l’Esterel meet the Mediterranean. The town centre retains a genuine year-round residential character that distinguishes it from more exclusively seasonal neighbours. The old port, the Romanesque church of Saint-Raphaël, and the seafront promenade form the civic core of a city that has attracted visitors since the Belle Époque without surrendering its identity to tourism.

The A8 motorway connects the town to Cannes in thirty minutes and to the Italian border in under two hours.
