Vence is a medieval hilltop town in the Alpes-Maritimes, sitting at roughly 325 metres above sea level between the coastal strip and the pre-Alpine foothills. The A8 motorway is accessible via Cagnes-sur-Mer, linking to Monaco in under an hour and to Aix-en-Provence in roughly 90 minutes. The nearest TGV station is Nice-Ville, approximately 30 kilometres away, with high-speed services to Paris in around five and a half hours.
