It was sold in 1618 to Claude Passart, a financier, notary, and secretary to King Louis XIII, who had it transformed by the architect and contractor Gabriel Soulignac. The Passart hotel has been listed as a historical monument since 1984. It is one of the few buildings of this style, situated between courtyard and garden, still preserved in the Marais.
