In ”French Tuscany”, at the heart of the Hérault, close to Pézenas An elegant 17th-century chateau with outbuildings and 4 ha of grounds. Three entrances open off the main road that runs alongside the property. To the east, a small bridge and an iron gate mark the original entrance; to the south, a second controls access to the former stables; to the north, a third leads to a large car park. Winding beneath the cover of majestic trees, the entrance drive ends at the main house, an imposing 17th-century building raised at the centre of the estate. Set within 4 ha of protected wooded grounds, the chateau forms part of a carefully considered harmony of architecture and landscape.

The house runs east to west, its axis crossing the grounds discreetly from one side to the other. On the west, the facade overlooks a wide open lawn which, with the trees bordering it, forms a perspective centred on a large pond with a central fountain. Two slate-roofed towers flank the facade, and a chapel stands at the south-west corner. The east facade looks onto an ornamental pond facing the entrance door, secluded and animated, enclosed beneath the tree canopy.

The chateau offers around 1,000 m² of floor area, spread over three levels, each of more than 300 m². The facades, of local stone under warm-toned rendering, take their rhythm from regularly spaced windows set in symmetrical bays. Projecting génoise cornices, typical of southern France and of Italian style, underline a new, gently pitched roof of traditional barrel tiles that crowns the building. Built in the 17th century and restored to its original character, the chateau embodies the elegant style of the Tuscan-inspired patrician country houses of the historic province of Languedoc. Its classical architecture holds to a strict symmetry of the facades, with dressed stone featuring prominently in the window and door surrounds.

To the south, an orangery and the former stables complete the chateau, the latter recently converted into contemporary living quarters. Two eco-lodges, hidden in a natural clearing set apart from the grounds, sit perfectly within their planted surroundings. Partly given over to events, together the buildings can accommodate 200 people.
