I have been licensed and practicing Real Estate sales in Northern Oakland County, Michigan since 2004. During most of that time, I have consistently ranked in the top 1%-2% of production of area Realtors. From the beginning, I have made a concerted effort to increase my average selling price and in 2013 began to focus primarily on serving Luxury Sellers and Buyers in the area. I have been a member of KW Luxury International (formerly Luxury Homes International) since 2015.
In 2020, operating as an Individual Realtor with a small administrative team (a full-time Assistant and Marketing Director) I achieved a level of production of over $20M, earning Triple Platinum status.
In March of 2021, I contracted Covid-19. What started out as annoying flu-like symptoms progressed to require admittance in a local hospital. Over the course of less than a week, the virus continued to worsen and I was admitted to the ICU. I was intubated and placed on a ventilator. After over a week of my condition worsening, and on my and my wife’s 35th wedding anniversary, my lungs were over 90% infected and non-functioning. I was given ”last rites” by the hospital Chaplain and my wife was told that the situation was hopeless and that I wouldn’t survive the night.
God, however, had other plans. To the astonishment of the doctors and with no physiological explanation, my condition slowly began to improve. Over a couple weeks, my health improved enough to be relieved of the intubation and allow a tracheostomy to be performed. I was transferred to an LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) facility. After four weeks of respiratory, occupational and physical therapy, I was discharged and was able to continue the rehabilitation at home. To this day, my team of doctors are not able to explain my survival - other than to describe me as a ”walking miracle”.
It has been a long road to full health and I have been blessed to maintain my business while facing the challenges of my recovery. I am currently in a state of health that I have never experienced. I have a level of passion and drive that has surpassed that of any I have experienced in the past. With the memory of my journey always in the forefront of my mind, I am operating with a level of gratitude and dedication to my clients of which I could not have previously dreamed. I am also focused on using my ”second chance” to be a positive influence and outstanding partner to my business associates.
