Vallauris sits on the hills above Golfe-Juan, between Cannes and Antibes, and carries a cultural identity shaped by its centuries-old ceramics tradition and its association with Pablo Picasso, who worked here in the late 1940s and left the town the monumental war and peace chapel that still draws visitors to the Place de la Libération. The heights above Golfe-Juan offer unobstructed views across the bay toward Cap d’Antibes, and the residential streets here have a quieter, more private character than the coastal resorts below.

The beaches of Golfe-Juan are a five-minute drive from the upper residential areas. Cannes, with its Forville market, Rue d’Antibes shopping, and the restaurant scene around the Vieux Port, is roughly ten minutes by car. Cannes train station connects to Nice in around 30 minutes and to Marseille in approximately 90 minutes by TGV. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 25 to 30 minutes by car, with direct flights to most major European cities and intercontinental connections. The A8 motorway, accessible from Antibes or Cannes, links the area to Monaco in under 40 minutes and to Aix-en-Provence in around an hour.
