Dating back to the 13th century, Quinta do Campo is a unique example in Portugal of the medieval architecture associated with the former Cistercian estates and is also regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.

Die Gebäude dieses Bauernhofs sind in 4 Teile aufgeteilt: das Haupthaus, der Weinkeller, die Scheune und schließlich die Wohnungen im alten Stall auf einer Gesamtfläche von fast 6,4 Hektar.
Das Haupthaus in seiner rechteckigen Konfiguration und mit einem Eingang in der Mitte des Gebäudes besteht aus einem Erdgeschoss mit acht Schlafzimmern mit eigenem Bad, einer Bibliothek, einem Wohnzimmer und einem Esszimmer. Diese drei Säle bieten eine reiche Architektur mit hohen Decken, Holz- und Stuckarbeiten sowie Möbeln aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, die für eine gemütliche und vertraute Atmosphäre sorgen. Auf der zweiten Etage befinden sich acht weitere Suiten, ein Büroraum, ein Esszimmer, ein Wohnzimmer und eine große, voll ausgestattete Küche.
Vor dem Haupthaus befindet sich eine quadratische Wiese, die von den Nebengebäuden umgeben ist: Das Weingut und die Scheune sind derzeit bereit, die unterschiedlichsten Veranstaltungen auszurichten, mit Küche, Sanitäranlagen und großen Räumen. Diese Gebäude stammen ursprünglich aus dem 12. Jahrhundert und wurden im Laufe der Jahre mehrfach umgebaut, insbesondere durch den Einbau von Eisensäulen aus dem Alcobaça-Kloster aus dem 18. Jahrhundert.
Der letzte Gebäudebereich ist der mit den unabhängigen Wohnungen, die mit Küchenzeile und Balkonen mit Blick auf die grüne Wiesenlandschaft neben dem Fluss Alcobaça ausgestattet sind. Insgesamt gibt es sechs Wohnungen mit einem Schlafzimmer und eine Wohnung mit zwei Schlafzimmern. Bis zum 20. Jahrhundert bevorzugte das Anwesen seinen Außenbereich für landwirtschaftliche Zwecke, und heute nutzt es diesen Raum und die Gärten für Veranstaltungen und ländlichen Tourismus und verfügt über eine lokale Unterkunftslizenz.
Die Lage ist aus touristischer Sicht interessant. In der Nähe befinden sich historische Orte wie Alcobaça, Tomar und Batalha sowie die Strände von Peniche, Nazaré, São Pedro de Moel und São Martinho do Porto.

Quinta do Campo

Classified in 2005 as a Property of Public Interest, the estate has undergone a number of interventions over the centuries, aimed at safeguarding its architectural and heritage significance. Today, it retains both its residential and agricultural character, combining the historical importance of its buildings with remarkable versatility of use.
Located approximately one hour from Lisbon and two hours from Porto, Quinta do Campo enjoys a privileged position in central Portugal. The estate provides convenient access to destinations such as Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos, Peniche, Leiria, Porto de Mós, Ourém, Fátima and Tomar, as well as to numerous locations along Portugal’s central coastline.
Its proximity to Nazaré also offers excellent access to the beaches to the north and south, including São Martinho do Porto and São Pedro de Moel, as well as other destinations along the Portuguese coast. The estate is also within easy reach of the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park and the Leiria Pine Forest.
Set within approximately 64,000 sq m of land, the estate comprises an extensive collection of residential and agricultural buildings, together with substantial facilities for hosting events.
Main Residence
The main residence is arranged over three floors and comprises eleven suites and nine additional bedrooms. The interior layout is organised around two central corridors running longitudinally through the building.
The interiors retain numerous architectural details of considerable character, with ceilings, walls and fireplaces featuring decorative woodwork and stucco. The entrance hall, library and drawing room also preserve distinctive decorative elements that reflect the history and identity of the estate.
Apartments
In addition to the main residence, Quinta do Campo includes eight self-contained apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom accommodation, all offering generous living areas and central heating. This configuration allows families and groups to be accommodated independently and comfortably, significantly broadening the estate’s potential uses.

The estate offers particularly extensive facilities for hosting both private and corporate events.
A conference hall of approximately 800 sq m provides an excellent setting for meetings, conferences and corporate functions.
The former wine cellar and granary, the latter located on the upper floor, each extend to approximately 700 sq m and are equipped with a bar and lavatory facilities. These spaces are further supported by a professional catering kitchen, storage areas and a service pantry, providing the infrastructure required to host events of varying sizes.
Outside, the central courtyard, framed by the estate’s centuries-old buildings, provides a particularly atmospheric setting and can accommodate social events for approximately 1,000 guests.
Gardens and Agricultural Land
The outdoor areas extend to approximately 20,000 sq m and include five separate areas providing vehicle parking during events.
