Discover a fresh expression of mountain living in this distinctive, solar-passive retreat set on over half an acre in the pristine neighborhood of Alpine Peaks. Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, bordering US Forest Service land on two sides, this unique property offers a rare blend of privacy, natural beauty and effortless access to the outdoors. Just a short walk to PaigeMeadows, leading to the Tahoe Rim Trail and minutes from the Sherwood Chairlift of Palisades Tahoe-Alpine, hiking, biking, and skiing are just outside your door. Inspired by Japandi design principles, the interior embraces a balance of simplicity, warmth and natural materials. Soothing neutral tones and soft lighting create a peaceful, grounded atmosphere that feels both refined and inviting. Thoughtful spaces offering a connection to the surrounding landscape bring a sense of tranquility to every room, making this home a welcome retreat in every season. Built with convenience in mind, an oversized two-car garage with covered entry provides easy year-round access and an airlock entry keeps the cold out, offering a transitional space before entering the main home. The great room with high ceilings is spacious and a gas stove rests on a striking stone hearth with river rock detail, adding warmth and texture. Two versatile lofts with solid ladders offer additional tree-house style spaces to retreat. Designed to capture natural warmth in winter and cool comfort in the summer, a stand out feature is the passive-solar south-facing sunroom, where skylights and windows invite the sun. This light-filled space offers a peaceful haven for plants and a natural extension of the home’s tranquil aesthetic. Sliding glass doors control the home’s temperature; this design is tried and true for a south facing lot. The spacious kitchen features granite countertops with artisan tile, stone accents and a sizable adjacent dining area offering plenty of room to entertain. Two generously sized primary suites, one with rich hardwood cherry flooring, a sizable closet and its own deck with hot tub and another larger suite with private office, walk-in closet and its own bath, are separated by a large guest room in-between. Outside, enjoy the expansive feel of the forest, and mountain views from two generous decks. Improvements, including a newer metal roof, skylights, on-demand hot water heater, plus updated electrical, fresh interior paint and exterior staining (all in 2025) add to the home’s renewed look and functionality. Energy-conscious design, exceptional privacy and immediate access to Tahoe’s outdoor playground make this a compelling opportunity for year-round living or a peaceful mountain escape. Here, thoughtful design meets the natural beauty of Tahoe—a place to play, slow down, reconnect, and feel at home.

Established in 1864, Tahoe City has a rich heritage dating back to the Gold Rush, when fortune hunters passed through on their way to search for silver in the Comstock Lode. A visit to any one of the museums and historical landmarks managed by the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society provides insights into how this town has evolved from frontier outposts to an appealing enclave of lakefront restaurants, homegrown coffee shops, boutiques and private estates. Tahoe City’s Lakefront Commons Beach is the heart of the town and provides acres of room to spread out, relax, hear a concert or peruse the Farmer’s Market in summer. At the north end, the park blends into Tahoe State Recreation Area, with right-on-the-lake campsites. The adjacent public pier makes a great place to jump into Lake Tahoe. The centrally located Tahoe City Marina is home to the Tahoe Yacht Club which hosts weekly sailing series and other popular nautical events. Located a little higher up on the mountainside of the town, you’ll find the world-class cross-country center Tahoe XC, which is the launching point to an outdoor enthusiast’s Never-Never Land. Mountain bikers, hikers and runners can stretch out and experience stellar lake views, while undertaking the challenge presented by the web of trails and singletrack. In the winter, 65 kilometers of groomed cross-country track branch out from the center. Also in the winter, the town hosts Snowfest, North Lake Tahoe’s version of Mardi Gras, with parades, live music, and snow play. A mélange of playful year-round activities, boutique shops, acclaimed restaurants and seasonal festivals awaits every visitor and local of the beautiful Tahoe City. Tahoe City is located just minutes from Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sunnyside and Homewood Resort and connected to these iconic destinations by a paved bike bath that runs along the Truckee River and the shores of Lake Tahoe.
