Saint-Raphaël occupies a privileged position on the Esterel coast, where the deep-red porphyry cliffs of the Massif de l’Esterel meet the Mediterranean. The town has been a destination for discerning visitors since the Belle Époque, and its architectural fabric reflects that heritage, with grand villas, a Romanesque-Byzantine church, and a seafront that retains genuine character. The Boulouris quarter, on the eastern edge of town, is among the most sought-after residential addresses, set between pine forest and private coves.

Daily life in Saint-Raphaël centres on the covered market on Place Victor Hugo, open every morning, and the restaurant terraces along the Vieux Port. The Boulouris area has direct access to several small beaches and is a short drive from the marina at Santa Lucia. Fréjus, with its Roman amphitheatre and broader retail offer, is five minutes away by car.

Saint-Raphaël has its own mainline railway station on the Marseille to Ventimiglia TGV corridor, with direct services to Marseille in around one hour and to Nice in approximately 45 minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 60 kilometres east, accessible in under an hour by car via the A8 autoroute. Cannes is 30 kilometres to the east, and Aix-en-Provence is around 120 kilometres to the west.
