Villa I Ronda

Ronda is one of Andalusia’s most historically significant cities, set dramatically on a plateau divided by the El Tajo gorge, with the 18th-century Puente Nuevo bridge spanning a 120-metre drop above the Rio Guadalevin. The old town, known as La Ciudad, retains its Moorish street plan and whitewashed architecture, while the surrounding landscape of the Serranía de Ronda offers some of the most distinctive terrain in southern Spain.

Daily life centres on the Plaza de España and Calle Espinel, the main commercial street. Restaurante Bardal holds two Michelin stars and is the benchmark for serious dining. The weekly market runs on Mondays. The Alameda del Tajo park and the Plaza de Toros, one of Spain’s oldest bullrings, are both within easy walking distance of the historic centre.

Ronda sits approximately 100 kilometres from Málaga, reachable by road in around 90 minutes or by train in just under two hours. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is the primary international gateway, with direct connections to most major European cities. Marbella and the Costa del Sol coast are roughly 60 kilometres to the south, making Ronda accessible while remaining genuinely removed from the coastal resort belt.
