The Golden Mile is Marbella’s most established and recognisable address, a coastal corridor stretching roughly five kilometres between Marbella town and Puerto Banús. It has defined luxury residential living on the Costa del Sol since the 1950s, when it attracted European royalty and international figures who built grand estates along its seafront. The area retains that sense of established wealth, with mature gardens, wide boulevards, and a concentration of landmark properties that set it apart from newer developments along the coast.

The Marbella Club Hotel and Puente Romano Beach Resort anchor the social and dining scene here, with restaurants, beach clubs, and spa facilities accessible without leaving the Mile. Marbella’s old town, with its Plaza de los Naranjos and covered market, is a short drive east. Puerto Banús, with its marina restaurants and boutiques, is minutes to the west.

Marbella town centre is reachable in under ten minutes by car. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, the main international gateway for the region, is approximately 60 kilometres east, typically a 45 to 55 minute drive depending on traffic. The AP-7 motorway runs parallel to the coast and provides direct connections to Málaga, Gibraltar, and Algeciras. Málaga also offers high-speed AVE rail connections to Madrid in under two and a half hours.
