Marbella occupies a privileged position on the Costa del Sol, sheltered by the Sierra Blanca mountains and facing the Mediterranean toward the African coast. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is approximately 55 kilometers from Marbella, roughly 45 minutes by car via the AP-7 toll motorway, with direct connections to most major European cities and several intercontinental routes. Málaga city center, served by the María Zambrano high-speed rail station with AVE connections to Madrid in under two hours and to Barcelona in approximately four and a half hours, is around 60 kilometers northeast.
