Estepona occupies a distinct position on the Costa del Sol, sitting between Marbella to the east and Gibraltar to the southwest, with the Sierra Bermeja mountains forming a sharp backdrop to the coast. Unlike much of the surrounding coastline, Estepona has retained a recognisable Andalusian character, with a well-preserved old town of whitewashed streets, flower-lined plazas, and a working fishing harbour. The stretch known as the New Golden Mile, running northeast toward San Pedro, has become one of the most sought-after residential corridors on the coast.

The old town offers daily markets, tapas bars along Calle Terraza, and the covered Mercado de Abastos for fresh produce. El Cristo beach and La Rada promenade are central to daily life. Golf courses including Villa Padierna and El Paraíso are within ten minutes by car. Marbella’s Puerto Banús is approximately twenty minutes east.

Málaga Airport (AGP) is the primary international gateway, located roughly 80 kilometres east of Estepona, approximately one hour by car or via the AP-7 toll motorway. The airport serves over 100 destinations with direct connections to major European cities. Marbella and San Pedro are accessible in under thirty minutes. Gibraltar Airport, around 50 kilometres southwest, provides an additional option for regional and UK-bound travel.
