The Carretera de Cádiz corridor, running west from Málaga city centre along the coast, has emerged as the city’s most actively developing residential seafront address. Known informally as the New Golden Mile, this stretch combines direct beach access with proximity to the established urban fabric of Málaga, offering a coastal setting without the isolation of the traditional resort zones further west toward Marbella. The Mediterranean is immediately present here, with the shoreline defining the character of the area.
The Málaga historic centre, including the Picasso Museum, the Alcazaba, and the central market of Atarazanas, is reachable in under 15 minutes by car. The marina district, Muelle Uno, with its restaurants and waterfront promenade, is similarly close. Málaga-Costa del Sol airport is approximately 10 minutes by road.
Málaga airport operates direct routes to over 60 international destinations, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam, making this one of the best-connected coastal locations in southern Europe. The city’s María Zambrano station offers high-speed AVE rail connections to Madrid in under two and a half hours and to Barcelona in approximately five and a half hours. The A-7 coastal motorway provides straightforward road access west toward Marbella and east toward Nerja.
