Escorca is the least populated and most dramatically wild municipality in Mallorca, occupying the high interior of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The landscape here is defined by limestone peaks, deep gorges including the famous Torrent de Pareis, and ancient holm oak forests. The entire Serra de Tramuntana was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape in 2011, and Escorca sits at its geographical and spiritual heart, centered on the revered monastery of Lluc.

The market town of Pollença, with its weekly Sunday market, restaurants, and shops, is approximately 20 kilometers away. Inca, the main commercial center of inland Mallorca, is roughly 25 kilometers south.

Escorca is accessed primarily via the MA-10 mountain road, one of the most scenic routes in the Balearics, connecting to Pollença in the north and Sóller to the southwest. Palma, the island capital, lies approximately 40 kilometers south, reachable in around 50 minutes by car. Palma de Mallorca Airport handles extensive international traffic, with direct routes to most major European cities, and is roughly one hour from Escorca by road.
