Le Cannet sits directly above Cannes on the hillside of the Alpes-Maritimes, offering elevated positions with clear sightlines across the Bay of Cannes and the Lérins Islands. The upper town retains a distinct character from its more famous neighbour: quieter residential streets, a preserved old village core around the Rue Saint-Sauveur, and a pace that reflects permanent residency rather than seasonal tourism. The painter Pierre Bonnard lived and worked here for the last two decades of his life, and the town’s Musée Bonnard remains one of the most respected small art museums on the Côte d’Azur.

Daily life in Le Cannet centres on the covered market on Place Bellevue and the shops along Boulevard Sadi Carnot. Cannes itself, with La Croisette, the Marché Forville, and restaurants including Mantel and La Cave, is a five-minute drive. The Cannes Palais des Festivals and the beaches of the Croisette are equally accessible without the parking constraints of central Cannes.

Cannes-Mandelieu Airport handles private aviation and is approximately ten minutes by car. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the main regional hub with direct connections to most European capitals and long-haul destinations, is around 35 to 40 minutes by road. Cannes train station, served by TGV and regional TER services, connects to Nice in under 30 minutes and to Marseille-Saint-Charles in approximately 90 minutes.
