La Seyne-sur-Mer sits on the western shore of the Rade de Toulon, one of the finest natural harbours in the Mediterranean. The town has a working maritime identity shaped by centuries of shipbuilding, and its waterfront districts, particularly around Saint-Elme and Les Sablettes, offer direct exposure to open water with views across to the Deux Frères rock formations and the hills of the Var interior. It occupies a position between Toulon to the east and the quieter resort of Sanary-sur-Mer to the west.

Daily life centres on the Les Sablettes beach promenade, the Saint-Elme port, and the covered market in the town centre. Sanary-sur-Mer, with its Tuesday morning market and established restaurant scene, is a ten-minute drive. Toulon’s Place Victor Hugo, opera house, and commercial centre are accessible by car or by the bateau-bus water shuttle from the Saint-Elme stop.

The bateau-bus connects La Seyne-sur-Mer to central Toulon in approximately fifteen minutes, running regularly throughout the day. Toulon train station provides TGV services to Marseille in around thirty minutes and to Paris in approximately three hours and forty minutes. Toulon-Hyères Airport is roughly twenty kilometres away, with connections to Paris and several European cities. Marseille Provence Airport, offering a broader international network, is approximately seventy kilometres to the west.
